CO2 Incubator Door and Perimeter Heater Calibration
This video shows how to calibrate the door and perimeter heaters in a CO2 incubator in order to optimize its performance and minimize condensation in extreme laboratory conditions. First, ensure the incubator has run with humidification for 24 hours. Next, open only the outer door and inspect the chamber, noting the location of any condensation besides the average 2 inches, or 5 centimeters, of fogging in the corners of the inner door. Next, access the “Environmental Set-Points” menu to reach the “Door and Perimeter heater adjustments” screen. If you see condensation on the inner door, increase the door heater in increments of up to 5%. If you see condensation on the internal gasket or front of the chamber, increase the perimeter heater in increments of up to 5%. If you see condensation on the back of the chamber, decrease the door heater in increments of up to 5%. If you still see condensation on the back of the chamber, decrease the perimeter heater in increments of up to 5%. Allow the incubator to stabilize at least 6 hours before each adjustment.
